Nuclear Dive Helmet

Swiss made DeepSea Dive Helmet by Beat Engel.

This helmet is often also referred to by its model number DSL B-2 Nuclear. The DeepSea Nucelar Dive Helmet by Beat Engel is a dive helmet designed for working underwater in a polluted environment. To optimise your comfort underwater it has a neutral buoyancy. The DSL B-2 Nuclear is also equipped with a SCUBAPRO A700 demandvalve which offers unidirectional airflow.

What's the benefit of unidirectional airflow?

This means the exhaled air goes into the helmet through the face mask and out through a spring-loaded 5mB valve. The spring-loaded valve is placed 120mm away from the nose and mouth of the diver.

What else do Northern Diver love about the DSL B-2 Nuclear?

Here at Northern Diver, we really like that the free-flow system that enables you to clear the screen is adjustable and separate. We also think the fact that in just a quarter turn the bail-out valve opens fully, which is a great safety feature. To ensure diver security in polluted areas, the DSL B-2 Nuclear is mounted with a double spring loaded over-pressure valve. This ensures the constant over-pressure of 5mB inside the helmet which in turn avoids the flow-back of any poisoned particles. The DeepSea Diving Helmet also has an integrated marine communication system and adjustable inliner hood.

What's the DeepSea Diving Helmet made of?

The base shell is made of glass fibre composites, the cover is carbon fibre. The screen is made from LEXAN Aviation polycarbonate. The side block is made of stainless steel while the metal on the Neckdam is nickelled brass. The Neckdam is made from neoprene for comfort and flexibility. The nasal mask is made from silicone and the O-ring is constructed from the synthetic rubber EPDM.

Please note: You must mount the Duralite neck-ring onto a drysuit that's made for contaminated environments (like our Thor suits) through a yoke.

When you go to the online checkout, you can opt to collect your items in store. We'll let you know when your order is ready for you to collect. Your order will normally be ready to collect the next working day.

Returns, refunds or exchanges?

You can return any item within 28 days of receipt for a refund, provided the item is unused, in its original packaging and in 'as new' condition.

Items will be refunded in full (less postage) if received within 28 days from the date of despatch.
