Commercial Bell Safety Harness With Built In Back Plate

A recovery harness designed for the comfort and safety of divers. This harness can be utilised for work safety. Due to its design, it is an essential piece of kit to assist in rescue if a diver were to fall unconscious or incapacitated. Fully tested multiple lift points ensure a recovery hoist could be safely attached to this commercial harness.

An ultra-tough hard plastic back plate is built into the harness and secured to the high strength webbing with stainless steel rivets. The harness is extremely comfortable to use, with or without a back-mounted cylinder and is tough enough to handle any underwater work requirements. Designed for surface or bell diving, or saturated use.

The back plate is standard with a single cam band, however this is capable of holding twin cylinders, if twinning bands are purchased and fitted. The back pack with six anti-slip rubber pads, finished with a 50mm black webbing cam-band to secure a cylinder in place and integrated hard plastic lifting handle.

The addition of the back plate can reduce the need to wear extra equipment giving the user much more comfort with the option to mount a bail out or main cylinder depending on the job requirements. The harness acts as the central point to attach the diver’s umbilical. The lifting can be either at the rear of the neck or using a spreader bar across the two front recovery points (certified triangular shaped D-rings). The bell safety harness is available in one standard size which is fully adjustable and can be placed in the most suitable position by any diver, regardless of their size.

We’ve had it independently tested against the European Standard 15333-1:2008 clauses 5.11.2 (Lifting Harness), 6.2 (Visual Inspection), 6.8 (Lifting Harness), 6.9 (Sea Water Resistance), 6.13.3 (Basic Testing) and 6.13.4 (Functional Testing when Diving). The Bell Safety Harness meets Regulation (EU) 2016/425 of the European Parliament and of the Council.
 
This means our bell safety harness:

• Can lift an unconscious diver from the water
• Does not need to be removed with any diving gear attached to it in a situation of emergency.
• Has lifting points located on the back and front.
• Can withstand a tensile force of 1000kg.
• Showed no tearing or indication of failure when subjected to a tensile force of 1000kg for 5 minutes in a direction of lift on each lifting point
• Passed a sea water resistance test. This test means it was submerged for 8 hours in seawater and then, without being cleaned in fresh water, left in air for 16 hours with a relative humidity of no more than 75%, all at a temperature of between 15°C - 25°C. This cycle is completed four times for the test

The testing our harness underwent was done independently from Northern Diver. They tested the security of the fastenings and couplings, the comfort and checked that there were no sharp edges or protrusions that could injure a diver wearing it. They checked how the harness functioned out of the water and made sure that it was easy to don and doff without help on land - this included the adjusting of all the straps.

Returns, refunds or exchanges?

You can return any item within 28 days of receipt for a refund, provided the item is unused, in its original packaging and in 'as new' condition.

Items will be refunded in full (less postage) if received within 28 days from the date of despatch.
